  1. Thank you for purchasing "The Ultimate Screen Saver Collection"
  2. CD-ROM!  We think you will enjoy this fine collection of screen
  3. savers, utilities, and games.  We know you are eager to run
  4. your new CD but it is important that you read this documentation
  5. first.  It will help you with loading all of the programs.

  7. This documentation assumes you have experience with using DOS and
  8. Windows.  If you need help with either of these consult your
  9. manuals or the place where you purchased your PC.

  11. Getting Started:
  12.  
  13. To run any program on this CD-ROM you will first need to load
  14. Windows into your computer.  You must have either Windows 3.1,
  15. Windows NT, or Windows 95 to use this CD-ROM.  After loading
  16. Windows run file manager.  In each subdirectory on this CD you
  17. will find programs which you can run directly from the CD or
  18. compressed version of these programs.  The following is an
  19. index of the entire CD-ROM.  To view the entire listing of
  20. programs with their descriptions view MASTER.LST located in
  21. the root directory of this CD-ROM.

  23. ICONS        <DIR>   Thousands of icons for use with Windows.
  24. NTSCR        <DIR>   Runable screen savers for use with Windows NT.
  25. NTZIP1       <DIR>   Compressed screen savers for Windows NT.
  26. SAVER1       <DIR>   1st directory of runable screen savers.
  27. SAVER2       <DIR>   2nd directory of runable screen savers.
  28. SAVER3       <DIR>   3rd directory of runable screen savers.
  29. SAVER4       <DIR>   4th directory of runable screen savers.
  30. SAVER5       <DIR>   5th directory of runable screen savers.
  31. SAVEZIP1     <DIR>   1st directory of compressed screen savers.
  32. SAVEZIP2     <DIR>   2nd directory of compressed screen savers.
  33. SAVEZIP3     <DIR>   3rd directory of compressed screen savers.
  34. SAVEZIP4     <DIR>   4th directory of compressed screen savers.

  40. WIN95ZIP     <DIR>   Compressed Windows 95 programs of all types.

  42. Most all programs included on this CD-ROM have documentation which
  43. tells you how to install and run them.  Some programs will run
  44. directly from CD and some will not.  If you experience problems
  45. running any program from CD-ROM you may need to copy it to your
  46. hard drive and try to run it again.  The documentation for each
  47. program is usually contained in the same directory as the program
  48. and has an extension of one of the following:

  50. .DIZ   Contains a short program description.
  51. .DOC   Ascii document file.
  52. .HLP   Help file.
  53. .TXT   Ascii text file.
  54. .WRI   Windows write file.
  55.  
  56. Any of these files may be viewed with Windows write or the notepad.
  57. Simply double click on them and you may then read the documentation for
  58. that program which will give you instructions on how to install and run
  59. the program.

  61. If you do not find any of the above listed files look for any of the
  62. following:

  64. .BAT   Batch file.
  65. .COM   Command file.
  66. .EXE   Executable program.
  67.  
  68. Double click on either of these to actually run the program.
  69.  
  70. If you are not going to use this CD-ROM on a BBS system there is no
  71. need to look at the programs contained in the compressed directories.
  72. If you do want to use this CD-ROM on a BBS system description indexes
  73. are contained in each of the compressed directories and are named
  74. the following:

  76. AREADESC.BBS   File area description file.
  77. DIR.BBS        Generic flat ASCII index listing.
  78. FILE.BBS       Generic flat ASCII index listing in an alternate format.
  79. FILES.BBS      Most often used with PCBoard and other BBS systems.
  80. SFFILES.BBS    Most often used with Spitfire BBS.

  82. One or more of the above files may work with your BBS.  Consult
  83. your BBS program documentation for more information.
